Madrone has conducted a full
range of consulting services regarding contaminated site
assessment for a wide range of projects throughout British Columbia.
Review of all pertinent laws, regulations and policies, impact scope,
and the determination of the type, magnitude and significance of
the contamination can all be provided, along with direction for
remediation.
PRELIMINARY SITE INVESTIGATION (PSI)
Madrone scientists conduct Stage 1 Preliminary Site Investigations (PSI)
which are to determine whether there is potential for contamination in
contravention of environmental regulations, but specifically excludes
the use of intrusive sampling and/or analytical testing.
Madrone provides reliable Stage 2 PSI investigations to confirm or
disprove the presence of potential contamination identified by a Stage 1
PSI. Samples of soil and/or groundwater, from suspected areas, are chemically
analyzed and the concentrations of contaminants are compared to statutory criteria
for maximum allowable concentrations.
Madrone Environmental Services Ltd’s PSI reports conform to standard reporting
requirements of the Contaminated Sites Regulation, and associated protocols and
guidelines established by the Environmental Management Branch of the MoE. These
investigations are intended to reduce uncertainty regarding the potential for
contamination of the site, but cannot completely eliminate the possibility of undetected
contamination.
